Software compatibility

Copyshape with other software

The main purpose of CopyShape is to create shapes that you can use in your paint program.
First you must know if your paint program supports 32 bit files, it means files with an opacity channel.
There are three different way to transfer the CopyShape picture to a paint program :

The clipboard
In CopyShape, you can copy the current shape to the clipboard. The copy function is available in 24 or 32 bit.
In small interface mode, use the Clipboard Menu to reach both copy functions.
In full interface mode, you will have also buttons for them.
File
You can save the current shape to a file and then load it in your paint program.
You can choose between BMP and TGA file format, from the drop down list, in the file requester.
BMP is available in 24 and 32 bit mode, TGA only in 32 bit.
In small interface mode, use the File Menu to reach both copy functions.
In full interface mode, you will have also buttons for them, with a disk icon.
Specific function for Mirage and PDPro
If you use Mirage or PDPro, you can use specific buttons to send them the shape.
The shape can become a new layer at original size or stretched, a new project or a brush in Mirage.
The shape can become a new picture or a brush in PDPro.

If you want to use a CopyShape Picture in Particle Illusion, you will probably want to change its original black colour first.
This way, you will get better results with Particle Illusion Tint and Color functions.

Technical informations

TGA file are uncompressed. In 32 bit mode the shape and the background are black, the alpha channel contain the shape data.
If your software doesn't support 32 bit picture, you should see a full black (or the shape color) picture instead of the shape.
