Tracer - user's guide

Interface

General overview

Once started, Tracer opens a control panel over all other windows. This allows you to use it like an additionnal panel in TVPaint Animation.
There are two parts in Tracer's window. At the left side, there is the buttons panel, at the right side you can see the settings area.

The buttons panel

Buttons are described from left to right, top to bottom.

Button 1 allows to draw an opened smple curve.
Button 2 allows to draw a closed curve.
Button 3 allows to draw a filled curve.
Button 4 allows to redraw the current curve, using new settings if needed.
The second row of buttons, the Pens, allows to select predefined thickness values.
The row of buttons 3 allows to select one of four user-defined styles.
The row of buttons 4 allows to select one of four user-defined tensions to apply to the curve.
The tall vertical button opens or closes the settings area.

The settings area

The horizontal shape preview allows to define the curve's style. It changes the style of the style button currentIy down.
Click onto the curve's shape ends, in the preview, to change the style.
Slide the blue and green areas to stretch the curve's shape.

The two numeric fields control the thickness at the middle and at the ends of the curve. These values are set for the Pen button currently down.

The vertical slider sets the curve's tension for the Tension Button currently down.
The square preview shows the last drawn curve with the current tension setting.
The curve is drawn in black, the control lines are blue.
